# Getting started

This guide will instruct you on how to get started using the Sinch Subprojects API. Before you can create a subproject under your project, you need to ensure you have a Sinch Build Dashboard account:

1. Sign up for an account on the Sinch Build Dashboard. Using the Subprojects API starts with the Sinch Build Dashboard. [Sign up for a free account](https://dashboard.sinch.com/signup) to be assigned your first project ID (parent project ID). There, you can also create additional project IDs. If you already have an account, skip this step.

1. **Identify the project ID for which you'd like to create a subproject.** You can find your project IDs (also called the parent project ID) and their corresponding project names under **Settings**, and then **Projects** in the Sinch Build Dashboard.
